Tornado count near record high through March

AUSTIN (KXAN)-- Extreme weather condition season has actually been really active throughout the United States, not just for the shear number of twisters, but their strength.

New information released by the Storm Prediction Center evaluated data through the first three months of the year. That data is still considered initial as storm and tornado reports are yet to be completed.

The preliminary count of 108 tornadoes on March 31, 2023 is the sixth most twisters in a day considering that record keeping started in 1950. A day is considered midnight to midnight Greenwich Mean Time, so regarding account for tornado break outs that cover numerous time zones.
