The first deadly incident occurred on Saturday, just before 2 p.m., when a motorcycle, operated by 30-year-old Karl Trayvilla from Carlsbad, collided with another southbound motorcycle on South Coast Highway in Oceanside. According to reports from the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office, the unfortunate event unfolded when Trayvilla lost control and was subsequently struck by an oncoming vehicle after tumbling onto the roadway near West Street.
The second tragedy struck on Monday around 12:30 a.m. when a car collided with a motorcycle on eastbound State Route 94, near College Avenue in Lemon Grove. The rider, John Nealis, a 47-year-old resident of El Cajon, was violently ejected from his motorcycle during the rear-end collision and died at the scene.
