Two arrested after 4-year-old sustains "significant facial injuries" in Sutter County

(FOX40.COM)-- 2 individuals were apprehended on several charges, including child abuse, Wednesday, the Sutter County Sheriff's Workplace said.

According to the constable's workplace, the dispatch system received a call around 3:30 p.m. about believed kid abuse in which the caller said a 4-year-old sustained "significant facial injuries" around 8:30 a.m

. The constable's office stated the child's mom was recommended to call law enforcement at the time however did not.

According to the constable's office, investigators identified and jailed a Yuba City male, 27, as the suspect.

The male was reserved in Sutter County Jail on charges of extreme force, corporal injury on a kid, attempted murder, and kid abuse with fantastic physical injury/death.

The mother was also arrested and scheduled on charges of corporal injury on a kid and kid abuse with excellent bodily injury/death.

The child was taken to UC Davis Medical for non-life-threatening injuries. The constable's office stated the child is "out of healthcare and safe."
