EL PASO, Texas (BNN) — The anticipation is palpable as the UTEP Miners prepare for an exhilarating new season. On a vibrant Saturday evening, the team showcased their skills during a lively pop-out practice at Eastwood High School, giving fans a taste of the excitement to come.
After making their first appearance in the Conference USA championship game since 2011, the Miners are back and hungry for success. The team has welcomed back all eligible scholarship players from the previous season, eager to reclaim their glory after a narrow loss to Western Kentucky, 78-71, in the title showdown.
During the open practice, fans were treated to an exciting scrimmage where KJ Thomas, a guard, made quite the impression. He demonstrated an impressive ability to drive to the basket, fearlessly challenging taller players in the paint, while also showcasing his shooting prowess.
