This male was my good friend, a bond that wasn't to be considered approved with Tony When you formed it, it was for life. He was the very best of the very best in our field. He was tough due to the fact that he knew what and who he meant. RIP Tony.

This is an awful shock. Tony Valdez was a stalwart reporter and an excellent human. He loved this city and its stories. We will miss him, but we are all richer for his service. May he rest in peace.

Tony Valdez. An intrepid press reporter, a proud man( in the finest sense) a historian of Los Angeles and it's culture; a guy whose work and enthusiasm touched so many.-- Steve Edwards (@SteveEdwardsAM) May 5, 2023.
