A series of violent, devastating robberies in a Westchester area have left locals on edge, stressed over being targeted next.
Several break-ins were captured on home monitoring cams as thieves wearing ski masks, dark hoodies, knapsacks and gloves were seen breaking into homes.
The suspects were seen lurking and peering into the windows of homes before shattering the glass to enter. In another instance, a suspect is seen taking down a security video camera to avoid detection..
" The robberies have turned really frightening," stated Debra Huston, a Westchester citizen.
Huston said she's been speaking out for months now about the unpleasant spike in break-ins and the progressively violent confrontations with burglars.
" In the last 2 weeks, they've pepper sprayed the owners of the home," Huston said. "In another case, a mother was home with her two young children and the robbers smashed their way into your home. In the third incident, a male and perhaps his household were home. The intruders entered and he fired shots with his weapon and frightened the burglars away.".
