*The video above discusses the most dangerous highways in Ohio.* CLEVELAND (BNN) - As the summer season kicks off and people hit the road for Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend, the Ohio State Highway Patrol is warning that this time period is also the deadliest on Ohio roads. Dubbed the "100 Deadliest Days," troopers have seen an increase in crashes during the summer months due to the expected increase in traffic volume. The 4th of July weekend has been particularly deadly in recent years, with 50 fatal crashes occurring during this holiday weekend in the last three years alone, according to law enforcement. The Ohio State Highway Patrol has released an image (shown above) to raise awareness of the dangers on the road during this time period. Troopers have stated that many of these crashes involve alcohol and drugs, as well as speeding. They urge drivers to always obey the speed limit and drive sober. If you see an impaired driver, call #677 to report them. In light of these dangers, the OSHP will have extra troopers patrolling highways and roads this holiday weekend. In a recent incident, two people were killed when they were ejected from a Jeep. Ohio troopers are reminding drivers to stay safe on the roads.
