LAKE COUNTY, Ohio (BNN) – – Peace of mind: it's what every school system intends to give their neighborhood.
Recently, Willoughby Eastlake Schools purchased flock cameras in hopes of preserving security on their school.
Eastlake Police Chief Larry Reik thinks the move is a no-brainer.
" Absolutely. The more the better," he included.
Never ever become aware of a flock cam?
It's a tool utilized primarily by law enforcement.
Basically, these monitoring devices monitor license plates.
Whenever a cars and truck goes by, it scans the plate to gather as data.
Authorities know immediately if any red flags linked to criminal activity are discovered.

" And then we can get a picture of the plate and perform an examination from there," described Chief Reik.
In total, the district is buying 5 flock electronic cameras through funding from a safety grant.
Two will be installed at Eastlake North High School.
The other 3 will be installed at Willoughby South High School.

Chief Reik understands that some people are suspicious about the use of flock cameras.
His defense:
" This isn't an electronic camera system for citations or for traffic offenses. We are on a public road; we understand we are under the laws of the state."
