Will a deal be made before the debt ceiling deadline?

DENVER (BNN) - - The United States is dealing with a possible economic catastrophe with the debt ceiling due date in less than two weeks.

President Biden's administration is reaching for a handle Republicans led by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif. The sides are up versus a deadline as soon as June 1 to raise its borrowing limitation, now at $31 trillion, so the federal government can keep paying the country's bills. Republican politicians are demanding high costs cuts the Democrats oppose.

While there has actually reportedly been a great deal of finger-pointing, "Colorado Point of View" political experts from both parties appear to think there is a much better possibility the sides are getting closer to an arrangement.

Both sides have to come to the table," Democratic strategist Andy Boian informed host Matt Mauro. "Both sides have to be willing to come to provide a little.

Fewer Colorado citizens signing up as Republican

Biden attempted to assure a conference of global leaders in Japan on Saturday that the United States would not default, a situation that would rattle the world economy. He stated he felt there was headway in the talks.

" I believe there's a lot of development and it's obvious with the outside Republicans and Democrats who are upset about it," Republican strategist Michael Fields said. "The Progressives who are upset and some Conservatives who are upset. So it seems like it's closer and closer than ever."

Colorado Springs voters chose the very first Black man elected to lead the city, beating out Republican and previous Secretary of State Wayne Williams.

FOX31's Data Desk checked out the numbers and found more citizens are choosing to determine as unaffiliated. In El Paso County, almost 228,000 voters-- or 48% of the county-- now identify as unaffiliated, outpacing both signed up Democrats and Republicans.
