DENVER (BNN) - - The United States is dealing with a possible economic catastrophe with the debt ceiling due date in less than two weeks.
President Biden's administration is reaching for a handle Republicans led by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif. The sides are up versus a deadline as soon as June 1 to raise its borrowing limitation, now at $31 trillion, so the federal government can keep paying the country's bills. Republican politicians are demanding high costs cuts the Democrats oppose.
While there has actually reportedly been a great deal of finger-pointing, "Colorado Point of View" political experts from both parties appear to think there is a much better possibility the sides are getting closer to an arrangement.

El Paso County, almost 228,000 voters-- or 48% of the county-- now identify as unaffiliated, outpacing both signed up Democrats and Republicans.
